Rebecca decided to be involved in the Be More challenge after going to one of the conferences of the Caritas roadtrip. “It is important to Be More in our world because no matter how hard you think your life may be, there will always be someone worse off, which is just awful. Plus, when you help others, you never know when you may need help in return” Explains Rebecca. Read more...

  • Stop for Poverty Freeze!

Stop For Poverty is your chance to be one of hundreds of Sydney-siders to assemble suddenly in secretly pre-determined public places, perform a synchronised ‘Stop Global Poverty’ freeze, amid a curious crowd of onlookers.

Worldwide today, more than 2.5 billion people are living in extreme poverty. We need to show our politicians that we think this is unacceptable. We need to give them a mandate for change, to ensure that as Australians we contribute our fair share to eradicating extreme poverty.

  • Haiti: Call to Drop the Debt

In the wake of the devastating earthquake, send a message to Haiti's international creditors that we want them to cancel remaining financial debts. To support this cause, sign Jubilee Australia’s online petition to give Haiti a chance for significant, long-term recovery.

Last week the IMF agreed to issue US$102 million in new loans for 'emergency assistance' to Haiti, which will bring Haiti's debts to an unmanageable US$1.2 billion.
