“The way you live your life is the most effective action of advocacy itself.”
Marissa, who first heard about the Be More Challenge at World Youth Day, has now set her challenges and begun her Be More journey. “I love the concept of achieving positive change through creative expression. I also believe that the best way to achieve change is in changing your own lifestyle, which hopefully influences others. The way you live your life is the most effective action of advocacy itself.” Marissa certainly lives her life to advocate on behalf of the poor and marginalised.
One way she does this is through her art. The quote ‘art changes people, people change the world’ has been very inspiring to Marissa. After designing and making her own t-shirts for a few years she has found that her designs have gone from reflecting fashion to advocating and promoting social and environmental issues that she feels passionate about. “I hope that my art will inspire people to be more aware and active in regards to the many injustices that our world faces today.”
Be inspired by checking out Marissa’s profile. While you’re there why not write a comment of encouragement.
